This is the "sound bite" I have found which most eloquently captures what I want to teach my children.
I have read Dr. DeMille's book, "A Thomas Jefferson Education" and I am very intriged by Dr. DeMille's efforts in "Building Statesmen" at George Wythe College. I can't say I'm totally on board with everything he espouses but I think he is well worth listening to if you have an interest in education or home schooling.
I am also reading Jerome Bruner's "Toward a Theory of Instruction" which I will be reporting on later.
